This book has a slow start but picks up, and doesn’t slow down! There’s so many phases of this book and I loved the progression and final connections!

I found I was enjoying this, it's a page-turner! Reliving the "truth" behind the icon from the safety of the present was gossipy and enthralling and could have been truthful.

taylor jenkins reid is without a doubt one of my favorite fiction authors. she has such a striking ability to seamlessly piece together a realistic world and intertwine that world and it’s characters into all of her novels. she also has a wonderful talent for pacing her novels.  i do believe malibu rising is her best (i have yet to read carrie soto though!), but this was a great read as well. i loved evelyn, as well as celia, harry, and john. but, i honestly did not care for monique. when looking at the bigger picture, i understand that monique was essential to the story, but i will not lie and say i was not bored when reading her chapters. i just could not find it in me to care much about her, even if that does sound harsh.
Spoileri was NOT expecting the insane plot twist with monique’s father. like OH MY GOD? with harry of all people! taylor you’re crazy for that one.

I never realised just how complex and multifaceted love can really be. I love how this book puts just as big of an ephasis on friendship and family as it does on romance.

Evelyn Hugo is a superbly well written character. She is complex and her story is so fascinating. I was captivated by her as if she was really a super famous movie star, and I loved her for how she acknowledges and tells her story truthfully.
