A couple of fun stories, but not essential to the overall IDC canon.

The Naughtiest Cherub - 4 - Loki's POV as he visits hell. Not really much to see here, folks. Definite popcorn filler
First Dangle - 4 - Owen and Slomo help out Coriander. Some nice character beats from Owen and Coriander, but not really essential to anything
The Waters - 2 - Granueille reflects on her connection to Gaia. Very much just a filler piece.

First Dangle and Other Stories is a great addition to the Iron Druid universe! This book is a collection of short stories exploring a Holy Grail story, the return of SloMo the sloth, and more. There’s also a really great sci-fi story tacked onto the end that isn’t part of the Iron Druid universe. I’d highly recommend this collection to those who’ve read The Iron Druid Chronicles. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

**The Chapel Perilous- Atticus 3
Read this when it first came out. Stealing back the Holy Grail as Gwain, except it was a fae object then and could feed armies. Didn't reread but gave it a 3 the first time.
**The Naughtiest Cherub- Loki 3 1/2
Well, interested lead into Ragnorok and Loki getting Lucifer to agree to not enter into the fray.
**The First Dangle- Owen 4 1/2 (longest of the shorts)
I would like more Owen and his sloth. They are fun but not as much as Oberon with Atticus. I hope Atticus grows his arm back. Here they help Coriander, herald to the first among the fae, part of the fae gods, find his friends killer. It leader to Spain and the fae court, then to a hired killer but... the healing doesn't always come from revenge.
**The Waters- Granueile 2
Well, very short and scorched earth, climate conscientious. Talk of Trolls, and talk about damage with a little fun Orla chasing squirrels. Forgettable and not fun. Good thoughts but not a story.
**Friendly Emily- Scifi very short, not Iron Druid 5
A walk, hike, leads to a lost child, the future doesn't look good.
Spoiler"Fuck Hiking"
Very funny, very, very short.

Nice

It was a good compilation of short stories. It helped to fill in the gaps between tales. I can't wait for the next installment!

A nice collection of short stories by Kevin Hearne, a few from the Iron Druid universe (including the further adventures of Owen and Slomo) and one SF story. Quick, light, fun and cheap.

I love me some murder sloth! This is a short Owen and SloMo story but also includes a few other Iron Druid shorts which is nice. I hope there is more of SloMo in the future.

There is also an additional piece of Kevin Hearne Flash Fiction at the end that is not Iron Druid related but delightfully terrifying.

The Naughtiest Cherub was fun, reading Loki's POV and seeing how Hearne imagines the Christian Hell, and I absolutely loved First Dangle, so those two stories earned the 5 stars. I marked The Waters as read with its own individual entry, which was so boring that it barely earned 1 star, but I decided not to weight that rating against the ratings of the other two stories in the collection for this entry.

To sum up: If you liked Loki or Owen and Slomo the sloth from the main series, the first two stories are worth reading. If Granuaile got on your nerves in the last couple books of the main series, she isn't any better in her story here.

Fantastic

Loved getting more stories from the Iron Druid world. Especially Owen and Slowmo. Something so enduring to Slowmo that I can’t help but smile while reading their interactions. Bonus getting a story with Granuaile.
