Great book, super easy to read! My favourite book so far by Debbie Johnson. Loved how many themes including anxiety, need for control and mental health are shown in the book. However the book was a bit lukewarm at the start and can’t get around her relationship with Katie, pupil-teacher friendships put me off.

Can you imagine having 16 years old, while pregnant and alone? This is how this story starts, the young Gemma is having her “Baby”, she knows that she is not prepared to care for her and takes one of the most difficult decisions of her life, giving her to adoption. Now, 18 years later, her “Baby” can start searching for her, but is really Gemma ready to meet her daughter?
I have to say that I don’t normally read books so full of emotions, they are difficult sometimes and get too personal. But I have to say that I am really glad to read “Forever Yours”, beautiful and real. It was difficult to not love Gemma and want the best for her.
Because Gemma hasn’t had an easy life, she always regrets giving her daughter up for adoption, but at the same time is aware that she couldn’t have taken care of her. But she has always had a wall around her heart, not wanting anyone too close to her or to love her. Now, her life is changing, but she is not sure she is ready for the change… will she face her fear and start letting the people around her be part of her life? You’ll have to read this book to know more of it, of course!
I think this is a very interesting book, emotive and beautiful; I am not used to reading about adoption. This book makes you think about the taboos around adoption and how difficult it is for the mothers to make this decision. This is a must read book for all the mothers/daughters; a reminder that adoption is never an easy option but that you are not alone.
Please read “Forever Yours” , talk about it and share it, it’s time we remove the adoption stigma and help all the mothers that have to make this difficult decision.
Ready to discover “Forever Yours”?

I really enjoyed reading this book, you always know you are in for a treat with this author.

It's such an emotional story showing how how being in the care systems affects all people involved.

All of the characters are endearing and so easy to fall for, I instantly wanted life to go ‘right’ for them
