Too depressing for me. So miserable. Yes there's competent protagonists and found family, but there's not enough kindness. And if you don't all survive so the book ends miserably then what's the point of reading 2200 ePages? I want to feel better at the end of that.
Maybe I'm just too old. I most related to Colm Fahey.
ETA: The MCs relationship is still annoying to me.I don't like that she essentially said 'if you don't touch me you can't have me'. There are presumably millions of wonderful long-term relationships where there is minimal skin contact (e.g. ACE, loved one in a care facility, sensory issues, preference, very young/old) that that viewpoint discounts. In a YA I would prefer to see more nuance about that.
