Burch has done it again! This story is the perfect blend of historical fact and mythology blended with the Pre-World-War II tension in Europe. Action-packed from the first page to the last, the character and adventures of Dust McAlan call to mind Clive Cussler's stories or the Indiana Jones movies.

This is the second book in the series. I IMMEDIATELY bought this book AND the third when I had finished reading the first one. It took me a bit to read book 2 - on Kindle it is over 500 pages! - but once I got into the story I hated to put it down.

As heart-pounding as the story is, one of my favorite things in this book is the discussion that Dust has with an MI6 agent named Webley regarding the latter's rather casual attitude toward taking human life. Just how much sacrifice is acceptable in order to avoid large-scale war?

I loved the first book in this series and was slightly nervous about the potential for a "sophomore slump" in book two. I didn't need to worry because this one was easily as good as the first book . . . maybe even a little better?! Now I'm faced with a bittersweet reality - I still have one more Dust McAlan book to read . . . but then it's all over!! Not sure how I feel about that!
