Time and time again, Terry Pratchett brings so much joy to my face with his weird and wonderful cast of characters, effable ineffability of the plot (pun certainly intended), and the laugh out loud humour that makes me look like a madman every morning on my commute to work.

Knowing Neil Gaiman played a very active role in making the TV adaptation of this book, I can’t wait to watch it and experience this incredible story all over again :)

I’ve tried reading this book twice at two different points in my life. I didn’t make it halfway either time. I don’t know what it is about this writing style — one which in theory I should absolutely love — that just bored me. I know it’s probably a well told story but I just couldn’t make it. Bummer. I guess I’ll just have to watch the show to absorb the rest of the book.

I had high hopes since so many reading friends recommended it enthusiastically. A funny book about the coming of the Anti-Christ and Armageddon, weaved with British humor and wry observations that only Gaiman & Pratchett could do. Only flaw, and it was on the part of this reader, is that I forever saw the Mark Shepard/SPN version of Crowley in my head.

Some parts were really funny, but I never quite got into the groove of this book.
