How would you describe this book? asks my ai generated Storygraph, as it always asks, with no idea or emotion of the heartbreak, tension, and other things that made my brain go insane and i absolutely lost my mind.
Tense, i answer. With a capital T.
again, these books are SOOO cool.
maybe bc i am just a nerd
what i found absolutely hilarious is the fact that nik and ella texted like middleschoolers, misspelli  no every other word and stuff
Hanna was So badass, she almost gave Kady a run for her title. But no, she is still queen.
Nik was good. Him and Ezra both seem to have the main purpose of being BoyToy while Hanna and Kady fuck shit up and save everybody. Lovely.
Ella was amazing.
THOSE MULTI VERSES AT THE END THOUGH REAL MESSED WITH ME babes. not okay. every time ella died i was like noo, at some point i wasn’t really sure if she was dead or no. thank god she isn’t

OMG I FUCKING HATE JACKSON THOUGH. ew. no. go away please and die in a hole. most hated characters ever list for sure.
i need them to meet with kady and ezra now though. Then Kady and Hanna can badass even more together. truly
just like with the first book, the first 200 pages are just introduction and u have no idea whats going on. Then the next 300 are pure buildup. and then the last 100 are the most intense pages you have ever read. whiplas and tension on every page. near deaths and also full deaths. sadness and also hatred. killing and also more killing. truly lovely.
i immediately started the next book. 4.5
ALSO AIDAN coming back yay i love it. redemption arc truly

even tho i’m not a fan of sci fi i enjoyed this as much as Illuminae, though i found this more confusing than i did the first book, and even that was hard to understand imo. i found myself having to constantly check the Illuminae wiki to check and verify details and confirm who people were and what things were as not much was really explained well in the book. one of those things where you kind of just have to figure it out for yourself.

aside from the confusion of the book, i absolutely loved the artworks and visuals and paired with listening to the audiobook while reading this was like reading a sci fi movie. the graphics are so creative and continue throughout the whole book making it really immersive and massively contributing to the reading experience.

I loved this book. I thought that I wouldn't like it as much with it following new characters (to start with anyway) but I ended up loving them.
It's the same nail biting, highstakes, tense sci-fi survival story as the first. Just over a much shorter period of time, days and hours instead of the months in the first book.
Just as amazing as the first book if not better!😁

I really enjoyed this continuation of the series. I did the combination of audio and ebook again, and is well worth it!

In this book we meet Hanna & Nik and watch them take on a BioTech team sent to take over the Heimdall station. Faced with a deadly team of soldiers, slimy predators, and a malfunctioning wormhole, Hanna and Nik have their work cut out for them.

So many stressful situations that again kept me on the edge of my seat. Some twists and turns I figured out and others took me by surprise. This series continues to be amazing and I definitely recommend!

The universe may not have imploded, but my brain most certainly did.

I thought it couldn't get more chaotic than the first book. Well, buckle up, buckaroo, because it did. I loved every second of this almost 700 page long book and do not regret all the brain cells I lost to it. I can't wait for both groups to come together in the third book and probably get more chaotic.

February 22nd, 2024 - February 26th, 2024.

“Patience and Silence had one beautiful daughter. And her name was Vengeance.”

“Your kind have perfected the clockwork of murder long ago.”

“You might get only one shot. So shoot. You know who said that?"
The rifle clatters to the bloody floor.
"Hanna FUCKING Donnelly. That's who.”
