SPOILER!!!!:

This was anticlimactic in that it doesn’t get resolved but I actually like it that way!

A very short novella, I found it good but wasn't blown away by it. I can't make my mind up about the conclusion.

I enjoyed it but left feeling indifferent. Still better than 2 hours in front of the television.

A small, perfect mystery with a wonderful, slightly cynical ending. Chiara takes the unusual step of having the mystery spin out across several years while fast-forwarding so the novel never feels too extended (at a slim 122 pages, I read this in a single sitting). Perfect for mystery lovers whose palates have been too dulled by Agatha Christie-type potboilers.

Extremely boring, borderline offensive (the entire plot is based on parades of deeply old-fashioned Italian machismo and woman-controlling misogyny), and with some of the worst, most clunkily expository writing I've read in a long time. Only 122 pages and I felt enveloped in none of them, especially when entire important scenes that could be intriguing are constantly glossed over in montage instead of being developed and given life. A book based completely not on characters but on plot machinations -- and the plot isn't even interesting.
