I read this book because I loved the movie. Surprisingly, this is one story where I prefer the movie. There wasn’t anything particularly outstanding about the book. I love the idea of the story with traditional views being challenged, effects of gossip and judgment, and demonstrating what matters in relationships but the book didn’t provide the additional depth to the story degree that I was hoping. I give 3 stars instead of 2 because I still love this story and the movie will remain one of my favorites. Not my favorite book though. Maybe it’s just not my genre of book.
