I get that it's a classic. That it's Herman Melville, but similar to The Metamorphosis, it just isn't my cup of tea. Again, read for my Existentialism class, so I get it. I prefer other classics.

A great short story (or maybe the right word is novella. I apologize, English is my second language).
It is funny and sad at the same time, and the procrastination theme made me think. I empathized with the lawyer and his feelings toward Bartleby.

This escalated from what I initially believed to be a form of "I do not dream of labor" to "I do not dream" to finally turning out to be an even bleaker look into someone who had assumed the "I do not."

I was not expecting to like this one at all but it was really good! Super anti-capitalist and also very weird. We love.

Read for Intro to American Lit.
