I enjoyed this! I do however feel like there was a lot of info-dumping in this book, which I understand is definitely necessary for fantasy (bc world building) but I think it got a little convoluted especially towards the end because at certain points I was trying to keep track of what was going on. It reminded me a lot of Caraval - multiple love interests, an island with many secrets, competition, etc. This book def held my attention but lost me a bit towards the end, but overall I’d recommend! Maybe you just have to have a better attention span than I do bc this seems to be a reoccurring problem with me when I read fantasy lol

WOW! This is the first book that had me gasping or yelling in a long time!! I was contemplating reading for a while but then finally something on book tok sparked my interest and I read a sample. I am so happy I did, it’s been a while since I’ve started a new romantasy series and totally loved it from the start! I think there were a few parts that could have been expanded more or that were brushed over but overall I highly recommend this book, it is fast paced and witty!

this book got me out of my reading slump! I haven’t read in years, but saw this on TikTok and wanted to order it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very dystopian, hunger games vibes, and I loved the plot twists at the end!

This was such a fantastic journey!! This book wasn’t at all predictable which I appreciated. I didn’t see any of the twists coming, and it didn’t at all end how I thought it was going to. I kept guessing what I thought was going to happen throughout the book, and I got every single thing wrong. I absolutely loved the story, loved the love pair that ended up together. The only thing that was rough was it took a second to get the world and the powers under my belt, but it really was amazing. Loved it!!!!

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book. The synopsis was thrilling and made sure to capture my attention, but the book itself had so many twists and turns and it wasn’t anything like what I expected.
