Quite possibly my favourite ever regency romance! I haven’t stopped since picked it up. Such a beautiful love story filled with passion, courage and love conquering all. Absolutely loved Jaxon and Gwen! Read this book!!

Books like this deserve more recognition, the author present a story when is supposed that is clear, like "they like each other, they can't be together, they know it, now how am i going to write the 80% towards the end" i was scared but Charlie did it so well that it surprised me, at the end the characters had changed but in a way that gives you a sense of satisfaction about the characters.

Such pure delightful anguish! Gwendolyn’s story is fraught with sadness, truly beautiful bitter sorrow… as we know there will of course be a rainbow after her storm. The analogy of her being the moon to Jackson’s sun is fitting as she shrouds herself in darkness to keep her past at bay. Living with such fears overhead, she cannot help but push people away thinking to protect them. The Cavendish family is not like most though. They are pure goodness and know the power of love and support, something Gwendolyn has not experienced in her life. The relationship between Gwen and Lord Eadon is enough to break your heart in the best ways, he truly is the father she should have had. The mystery that surrounds her keeps you glued to the page, much like Jackson, trying to guess what secrets hold her. I love the symbolism throughout this story, from the walls of thorns she erects to keep people out to the dragon hoard her emotions. It truly brings Gwendolyn’s character to life. A wonderful story of found family come to life. Charlie Lane writes such beautifully artistic words, painting a vivid picture of a story in your mind.

The story of the leading couple has its moments were they make some exciting moments entertaining. The book feels like a fast read for me. Perhaps the book is a quick read for historical romance readers. The characters are entertaining for me. I enjoyed reading their interactions with the leading characters. Jackson’s twin brothers are my favorite character. How them two are married I have not a clue. The book has its fun moments. This Isa good read.

I’ve been reading Charlie Lane’s books for two years now and she never once disappointed me! Her writing is superb, evocative, poetic, the places in which her characters live or move always fit perfectly with the mood of the story and are gorgeously described, the characters are flawed, sometimes infuriatingly so (yes, I’m talking about Gwendolyn!), but very human, and every emotion they feel is eviscerated and laid bare for the readers to see and helps understand them better. Her cinnamon roll heroes are sweet and kind, but also very strong in the face of adversity and so very sexy! And I love a sexy scholar with a sunny disposition and the patience of a saint! This series is really one of my favorite and I’m waiting for the next book (yeah, circus again!) with bathed breath.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Charlie Lane for access to this delightful and cozy romance arc!!

4.5/5 stars!!

This is my first Charlie Lane book, and it was just so so so sweet! I know now that this is the fourth in a series, but it really didn't take anything away from getting to know these characters. I could absolutely get involved with these two lovebirds and didn't feel like I was missing anything from the secondary characters. It just made me want to read the other books!

I loved Gwendolyn and Jackson together. Going from coworkers to friends to being madly in love - who couldn't love this?? I love love love how sweet and protective Jackson is, and so patient while Gwendolyn works through her past fears and trauma.

If you're looking for a cozy feel good historical romance, then look no further
