Loved that this is less a book about Zombies and more about the changed world, journalists and a political campaign. Zombies are a footnote and this would suit even those that don't like a Zombie book!

Objectively, this is not a five star book, but nostalgia won out and I had so much fun rereading it that I can't lower the original rating.

This book tumbled off of the shelf, into my basket, and made it's way home without me recalling have purchased it a few weeks later.

This book was my first introduction to the world of zombies, and reading the summary generated questions in my head that MUST BE answered!

As I fell into the narrative, it became clear that this book wasn't so much zombies like most other books or even TV Series go on. Gory scenes, heart-pumping scares, and zombies locked in the closet, so much as it was more about the political side of things, and, of course, the general theme of freedom of information.

Despite the lack of zombie outbreaks and chase scenes however, it left enough mystery to keep me pulled in and ready to solve the Murders! (Or in this case Zombies). If you're looking for a not-so-gory ride, then this is definitely something to try out.

My favorite fact that came from the book, was hearing that the Author took time to contact CDC and actually did research on a virus that could create such beings, and created what I would call a very realistic experience.

Not incredibly well written, pretty predictable plot points, but super enjoyable nonetheless.

I'll definitely read the next one. (Thankfully the whole trilogy has been published, even more thankfully the first book had a decent ending, as opposed to all those ones that just stop right in the middle of a narrative...)

Was expecting something different when I started this, but ended up really liking it. This is a zombie book, but focuses not on the gore and such, but the state of the world after the infestation. Additionally, this reads (I listened to audiobook) like a teen book, but it was still quite good. Recommend for a different kind of post-apocalyptic read.
