Have you ever read a book and instantly thought, "I wish every politician had to read this book as part of their introduction to their role?" Did the book also include recreational drug use, fairies, and a very horny protagonist?

Well, it wasn't something I was expecting either, but that is precisely how I felt about this book. I even cried a little because I was filled with so much optimism and love.

While I enjoyed parts of the book, I can honestly say I had no idea what was happening like 75% of the time.  And there was no big "oh I get it" moment.

The fact I couldn't get through this 150-page novella says it all.

This quirky, sweet novella was a mixed bag for me. My favorite part was the main relationship between the main character, Lana, and her fairy friend, Bugbite. I usually like weird/oddball books, but I think I just didn't really get this one. I kept thinking it was trying to say something larger, but that message got lost in the quirkiness and annoying characters for me. The worldbuilding felt lacking, as I needed to know way more about why this world is how it is in order to truly understand what was happening. In the end, it was fine, but unfortunately not as funny or poignant as expected.
