To start, I did enjoy the story and can't wait to see what will happen in the next book, but I didn't enjoy A Throne of Ruin as much as I enjoyed Ruin of Roses. Don't get me wrong, the smut was on point, and I love the tension and romance between Nyfain and Finley, but I just felt that the story was quite slow paced and that there was a lot of filler throughout the book.

If you’re looking for plot, don’t read this book. If you want erotica with a pinch of plot, it’s a green light! Some of the spicy scenes weren’t quite my  thing and

K.F. Breene narrowly missed the pregnancy trope

which would have made it an automatic DNF for me. We can have strong sexy female characters without forcing gender constructs upon them.
