Honestly get the feeling this author isn't for me. Waaay too annoyingly descriptive and self indulgent. If this book was shorter maybe I'd stick it out but life's too short

I can’t decide if I’m never reading another Bret Easton Ellis book again or if I’m going to read all of them. In terms of storyline the book was probably several hundred pages too long but at the same time needed to be that long to keep building suspense.

There were parts of it that I loved. The style was so distinct, every car make + model described every street named. It felt like reading American Gigalo. It was hard to read though, very graphic, violent, disturbing. Im not sure the payoff was worth it.

Honestly, had he made this book 300 pages shorter and got rid of unnecessary scenes, I probably would have finished it. But the build up was taking far too long and I was beginning to get bored.
