I can always count on Kortney to make me laugh and smile and tear up. This is good start to the series. Looking forward to reading the others.

This was a novella about two exes spending time together at their friends’ wedding after one dumped the other. This was pretty quick and sweet, and I thought parts of this were cute (refreshing too with the lack of spice!). The flashbacks were interesting, and though there were typical rom com, ex shenanigans at the beginning, I preferred the part when they were being genuine with each other. I didn’t love the leads - the female lead in particular was working through one thing, and though I could sympathize, it was frustrating to read as she treated the male lead horribly (who also wasn’t perfect). Although novellas aren’t really my thing because I tend to prefer more depth and slow burns, this one gave what it needed to, and I would definitely be interested in reading something longer by this author in the future. 🗣👥☀️

Wow. Can someone help me off the floor because this book seriously made me fall in love and swoon so hard I fell out of my chair. Matt’s love and determination to love Remi was seriously the sweetest and if my man doesn’t cherish me and make me feel as beautiful and loved as Matt made Remi THEN I DON’T WANT IT!!!!

Anyway, everyone go read this book!

Bear with me for a second, this may sound strange, but I mean it in the best of ways... For a book that has a lot of aspects I thought I didn't like (i.e., second chance romamce, a seemingly wishy-washy FMC, flashbacks, novella length), I ended up liked this WAY more than anticipated. In fact, I think this book has redeemed novellas and second chance romance for me. Why? Well, it all felt so real and relatable. Yes, I thought Remi was a dimwit at first, but then her reasons for being the way she was came to light, and you can't help but feel some of her pain. We all suffer through insecurities, especially in relationships and this novella felt so authentic to how we process these things. Then add to it Matt, the absolute sweetest, and this is a story to charm you and make you smile.

Content
Clean romance, just kisses. No swearing. Some unresolved childhood trauma.
