The only gripe that I have with this series is that there is not much character development at all, and none whatsoever outside of the three(?) main characters. This is due to the fact that there are only a few conversations outside of the task in front of them, which usually involves either a Mission Impossible style break-in or one of the races. You also have a stereotypical mean dude and no reason as to why he is that way. He just...is.
