The story was an interesting idea and the writing was okay. The ending kind of bothered me. It reminded me of the scene from the end of "Bolt" when the show that Bolt was on had to explain why the girl was a different person and it showed the nurse as the man with the green eyes. IYKYK. And then I found out this was book one in a series. For some reason, that irked me. I didn't hate this book but it didn't raise my heart rate. It was just an okay read.

"She nodded. This would either be the end or the beginning of her life"
Such a fantastic premise and concept!
Loved this book, and can't wait to read the next one, last page got me going!
A couple that just had a new baby, but already had 7 others that died of unknown causes, a mystery around a house, and a family that lives inside, forbidding their daughter to have contact with the outside world. This story had a wide set of subjects ranging from sci-fi to bits of romance, from aliens and secrets to tension reading: all great combinations that got me invested from beginning to end.

First, why isn’t this categorized as Young Adult, because it is very much that. Main characters are 18 or below, and a cringe romance side plot.
The book started out promising, and then…. No. Just no. Too many eye roll moments and too predictable for my liking.

Wouldn’t have read this if I knew it was a ya book, but it made a long car ride pass very quickly!
