Project A.I.D.E.N. is a fast-paced, fully immersive experience that could easily be adapted to the screen. Set in the not-so-distant future, this book will give you a healthy dose of adrenaline, and the fluttery feeling of first love.

When Elena hits Aiden with her car, she doesn’t even have time to think about the reasons why he is miraculously uninjured. Because Aiden begs her to drive him away from the place he just escaped. Now on the run, Elena and Aiden become unlikely partners-in-crime, trying to figure out who wants Aiden gone, and why.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this story was its pace. Author Lindsey Frydman doesn’t waste an inordinate amount of time world building or doing anything else superfluous. Instead, Frydman drops readers right into this world and hits the ground running.

I also liked how the chemistry between Elena and Aiden develops slowly, yet surely, even as the events around them are moving at a fast clip. This is the kind of book you can sit down and just tear through, and it was something I could definitely see being made into a movie.

I really enjoyed this book, and think that it’s a great read for YA-aged readers and adults alike.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Project AIDEN is an intense mixture of YA Sci-Fi and Romance with a lot of action. The plot was incredibly fast-paced, maybe a bit too much at times, but there wasn't a lull in the story at all. If you're looking for something different to read that will keep you on your toes, definitely recommend this one!

The story opens with Aiden in AIR, the facility that created him, and jumps between his and Elena's points of view each chapter. Many secrets and twists are uncovered through the story and while completely unrealistic at times (I mean, Aiden is a hot robot...), Aiden and Elena both tugged at my heartstrings. They were well-written and well-rounded characters, though there wasn't a lot of depth to them, there was just enough to enjoy the adventure.

Thank you Entangled Teen for the e-ARC to read and honestly review!

If Maximum Ride met the Terminator who also met a Sarah Dessen novel, this would be the outcome.

“If I destroy her life, too, the regret will swallow me whole.”
~Project A.I.D.E.N.

First things first, Project A.I.D.E.N. was very predictable, but it wasn't a bad predictable. For the most part, I think Frydman probably wanted you to be able to guess the plot. I mean the whole evil dad thing was pretty obvious from the get go.

This fast pacing confusing story alternates between the two main characters, Elena and Aiden, point of view and takes you on their journey. I don’t know exactly how I feel about either character. I neither loved or hated them and at times, I found them hilarious but then it would start describing how the other person looks so beautiful.

If you are an anti-insta love person, this is most definitely not for you. Elena and Aiden fall in love with each other pretty much instantly, like the trope. She hits him with her car and immediately finds him attractive and doesn’t freak out, which most people would find weird. There are plenty of paragraphs which are just them describing the other in each other’s POV.

Probably after reading all of that, you are wondering why I gave this four stars. Well despite what I might have said up there, I actually did enjoy this novel. I found the writing hilarious and the characters were fun. Elena was probably my favorite because she wasn’t the “I’m not like other girls” trope and she was able to stand up for herself. Plus there was one twist at the end that I didn’t see coming.

I would probably read Project A.I.D.E.N. again if I had the chance because it was a different book then what I have seen around and it was pretty interesting.

Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for giving me an advanced copy for review.

I was not prepared for how much I was going to love this book! I found myself rooting for Aiden and Elena straight away. Told from different POV’s it kept me on the edge of my seat from page 1. The adventure they went on together was absolutely incredible and show us how beautiful love can be despite the obstacles. Thank you so much Entangled Teen and NetGalley for this ARC. I can’t wait to read more from Lindsey.
