I'm a sucker for reverse harems, and this one included zombies! It's been a long time since I've read anything dealing with zombies, and I couldn't wait to get into this one. This book focuses mainly on Kelsey as she is just trying to survive. She's been without human contact for over 400 days by the time she meets these four random guys at her fence trying to find shelter after running away from a herd of zombies! I was obsessed with the zombie angle and couldn't get enough of it. I even loved seeing this harem come together. But things went downhill/got a little boring after the harem was together because we lost focus on the apocalypse. Until now, we had zombie content and isolation, and Kelsey was seriously struggling. We got glimpses of that when the guys appeared, but then it was like they were in this life of bliss since the zombies couldn't get over the fence. They lived this new life where they maintained everything, and overall, they didn't need to deal with the zombies, so they were more of an aftermath then. We never learn what started the zombie apocalypse or if it was ever cured. But we see a glimpse of a happily ever after when the book ends. Anyways it's a fun light read that was pretty fast and took on a different atmosphere from the other books I've been reading. However, it does deal with some pretty heavy content, such as suicidal thoughts, suicide, a pandemic, post-traumatic stress disorder, and isolation.
