I just loved book one- Whiteout like top book of the year loved. This one is way more mystery/thriller than romance. The romance takes a major back seat. Leo we meet before with her team in book one, but in this book she just proves how badass she truly is. Elias we learn has so much backstory but from the moment we meet him, you want him..or at least I did :). We do get some steam much later on- we earned it when it comes that for sure.

This will maybe make you want to go to Alaska or leave enjoy it from afar in a plane or helicopter not so much running for your life. I can't wait for more of this series and whatever happens to this bloody virus.

3.5 stars. I loved Whiteout so much for the action and character development but this one was a bit of a miss for me. It was almost too much action for me to believe these two could even have energy to keep moving let alone fall in love.

It definitely put the suspense in Romantic Suspense!

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC.

When you enjoy the chapters without the MC’s more, something’s not clicking…

Still, exciting ride. The sex scenes were.. superfluous, tbh.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. You have Leo, an alpha female ex military pilot who was on a mission that was suppose to be a quick in and out. On the other hand you have Elias who is an ex government employee who is also an alpha that was set up many years ago for a crime he didn’t commit. This book was a romance suspense that seemed to lean a little heavier on the suspense side. It had multiple heart pounding moment that will have you on the edge of your seat hanging on to the next word as the story unfolds. The book truly captures you with the descriptive way it was written. You also have a slightly mischievous dog in the mix that I adored.

***SPOILERS!!!***

When you drag a book out to make it last, you know it's good. When you laugh, read with bated breath, love the characters, and can't wait to see what happens next, you know you've got something good. And that was my experience with Uncharted.

Leo, the heroine, was a great pilot. She was extremely strong, both physically and emotionally, and was dedicated to doing the right thing. Elias, the hero, was awesome. He'd lived alone in the Alaskan wilderness for ten years when the story started. He was running from the law as he'd been made out to look like a mass murderer, and he had some secrets that had to do with Leo's mission. These two together were amazing. They were partners in every sense of the word, keeping each other alive, catching each other before they fell, and then, of course, through all the stress and running for their lives, they became romantic partners.

This story was action-packed. Leo went out into the wilderness trying to stop a company from getting hold of a man who had a sample of one of their viruses. Though who he wasn't the man she sought initially, Elias was the one who had all the answers. There were a lot of brushes with death, both due to plane crashes and Mother Nature. The book had points of view from two other characters, as well. There was Amka, an elderly lady who was Elias's godmother and who refused to let her town be overrun with the bad guys from the company who hunted down the virus. She was hilarious. And then...there was Ash, a tracker on the team. He was creepy in some ways, and yet I felt sorry for him. When the revelation came about, I wasn't completely shocked, but the guy was definitely an odd one.

Overall, this was an awesome book. It's been ages since I read the first one, and that didn't stop me at all. It could easily be read as a standalone, as the first book followed different team members. Believe me when I say that Elias is gonna be a character who sticks with me. Oh, and we can't forget Bo, of course!

It’s wonderful suspense, lots of competence, and remarkably sweet. Looking forward to the next one!

This. This is how you do a follow-up in a great romantic suspense series!

Quick spoiler (ish) about the fate of two of the characters, because I know it mattered to me going into it:
Spoiler Both Bo (the dog) and Amka (the old lady) live! They both make it through to the end, and I would have been devastated if they hadn't. So if you're worried about them like I was, you're good to read on!

I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down. You can read this as a standalone, though I think you will get so much more out of it if you've read [b:Whiteout|42366204|Whiteout (Survival Instincts, #1)|Adriana Anders|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551744045l/42366204._SY75_.jpg|66021775] first. And Whiteout is an incredible book too, so why not enjoy both? [b:Uncharted|54711635|Uncharted (Survival Instincts, #2)|Adriana Anders|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1621249103l/54711635._SX50_.jpg|85361568] hits the ground running, and we're thrown right into the Alaskan deep-end right from the start and it doesn't slow down once! I think the fast pacing right from the jump along with the fact that this story spends less time in the villain's POV compared to Whiteout is what set Uncharted apart and made it that much better for me.

The writing of Leo and Elias's survival journey through the Alaskan wilderness was beautiful and cinematic. The tension and danger were so high, but it was incredible to watch their relationship transition from reluctant and hesitant partners, to trust, to love. It felt so organic for their situation and I loved it so much!

This book has everything you want in romantic suspense. High stakes, knives-to-the-throat, body heat for survival, teamwork, wonderful side characters, personal growth, and of course, danger banging! I genuinely cannot wait to see where this series goes next!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to the author and Sourcebooks Casablanca for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

*Thanks go to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advanced electronic copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of those books you should not start before you go to bed because JUST when you think about putting it down something crazy happens and you have to find out how these two are going to get out alive. I usually have a hard time with contemporary action/romance because there always seems to be too much of one or the other but this book really had the perfect balance of both. The thing about romance is that you're guaranteed a happy ending but the author does a GREAT job or making you second guess that.

I loved Ms. Anders previous book in the series and was afraid it wasn't going to live up and even though the couples are really different it still had me cheering them on. Both Leo and Elias have a lot of experience in tough situations but the plot throws such massive crazy problems at the couple (cold! bears! hunger! head trauma! bad guys!) you wonder how the hell they'll get out of them. This is a great book to read on an incredibly hot day. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

P..S. I may have looked at the last couple pages to make sure the dog was ok. He was fine. Phew.
