I enjoyed the story more than I expected to, although the art left something to be desired.

A good solid story with lots of action and a bit of pathos. Not a new favorite, but it is enough to make me curious where it is going.

I keep trying to like DC and Marvel superhero comic books (it’s hard for me to care for stories — and the characters in them — that don’t necessarily know where they’re going and in which the universe seems to be ever-expanding). This was a book I read trying to keep an open mind about this type of books. And you know what? I didn’t hate it! I actually enjoyed reading it. I didn’t know much about Supergirl, other than what the currently running TV show presents, and I was a lot more into comic book Kara: there’s darkness in her — from confusion and grief, granted, but it’s there. It felt fresh to me. I don’t think I’ll continue onto the next volume, because the quality seems to dicrease significantly, but consider my mind reopened.

Kara crash lands on Earth, fresh out of stasis she emerges dazed and confused. Military men in mech armour almost immediately descend upon her. Not understanding what they're saying (and the humans have twitch fingers) a fight ensues. Superman steps in to help his cousin, only she wants nothing to do with him. In a fight that occurs above the clouds and across the Earth Kara comes to realize that what Clark says is true. Kara is on her own on a strange planet, unable to speak the languages of the planet, and with no real comprehension of what is happening.

Wow, I didn't expect to like this so much. The story is very bittersweet and interesting. I liked Kara, she is a teenager and she feels lost and confused. Her reaction to waking up in an unknown place and learning you have lost everything is very understandable. God, being a teenager in an unknown place, where you don't speak the language and your culture is different is very hard, I know this. I suppose that is the reason I liked the comic so much, I relate to Kara's experience. And I loved so much how she kicked Superman's ass.

Epic start for this series. I was afraid this was going to be bad,and vague. Introduction to some interesting villains that I hope they bring back in later issues.
