The main story of Geralt, Ciri, & Yenefer wraps up in the bittersweet 7th book out of the 8 in the series. The storylines of war in Nilfgaard, Geralt’s search for Ciri, Vilgefortz’s plans, and more all end in this exciting finale.

I enjoyed this final story and I think it worked well to tie up all the many threads & characters Sapkowski introduced throughout his books. It ends with some characters deaths, some getting to live happily, and some ending in more unusually mysterious situations. Some of the character choices seemed off and I wish some events happened differently, but overall I was fairly happy with the ending.

The Last Wish - 4.5/5

Time of Contempt - 4.5/5
Baptism of Fire - 3.5/5

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but just go watch the show. This book, and most of the series, is told in a very inconsistent, confusing, and anticlimactic way.

ALSO, after waiting for a certain character to reunite with the Witcher after a very long time, all we got from Geralt was “It’s good to see you.”

Really good, a shockingly quick read considering the length. Sapkowski did not need to add so many POVs to get the story across, but when it was good it was great.
This mixed in a famous Arthurian legend, & I would be lying if I didn’t have to do a little homework to make my own sense out of that ending as it is left to some interpretation.
Fitting conclusion to the saga

“If the world is to be saved like that-' the Witcher lifted his head '-it would be better for it to perish”

Perfect ending for a fantastic book series.

The Witcher has been pretty good but honestly not deserving of the strength of acclaim that this series has gotten. It's a bit rapey for my preference.

I don’t even know how to rate this cause I hated the ending. There was a lot of build up during the series regarding ciri’s powers and the prophecy but in the end, that just ends up seeming unimportant, because you get zero closure. I was hoping that the last book would give important insight to some questions that were left kind of abandoned, but no. So I’m quite disappointed, I was expecting more.
Overall review of the series tho: great universe with interesting characters. These are books that make you laugh but also make you confused and wondering were the line between mystery and reality/ magical is at. Most of the stories are involved with magical aspects and interesting metaphors and symbols wich I find interesting. I really enjoyed reading these books but I must say that the story is not well developed, there should be more. To end like this doesn’t make any logical sense, and the tv series although lacks some coherence and is mostly catered to the romantic aspect, does appear to move towards a more logical path regarding the ending. It’s yet to be seen how it will end there.
