In this book we are continuing to follow Bryce and Hunt after the events of Crescent City. They are finding their footing in the world after the attacks. Spending their time with friends and family when they start finding that things in the world are not as they always expected. Bryce is finding even more information about Danika, and the world seems less steady every day. The more they discover, the more danger they find.
I definitely didn't expect the ending. However, most of what felt like were intended as big reveals throughout the book, didn't land for me. If you liked the first book, and you enjoy a LOT of open door spicey scenes then you will enjoy this book.
Graphic: Panic attacks/disorders, Sexism, Torture, Blood, Bullying, Death, Grief, Injury/Injury detail, Kidnapping, Violence, Sexual content, War, Classism, Confinement, Forced institutionalization, Gun violence, and Murder
