Small island town, witches, sea monsters, generational-esque curse. COUNT ME IN!
This story takes place on the Isle of Man and there’s something in the water, and has been for a while, just waiting to get its revenge. Bridey Corkill knows this, but the rest of the town makes her feel like she’s crazy, but when new events happen, she knows she’s not the one seeing things that aren’t there.
I loved this story so much. There were so many aspects that I liked and it felt like a really wonderful, eventful adventure to experience. And a way to learn about the Isle of Man and the language and culture of the Manx people. I thought that inclusion was really sweet and helped tie myself further into the world of Bridey and Fynn.

I gave Fear the Drowning Deep 5 stars because I found it a great story and enjoyed reading every word of it. I can’t wait to dive deep in the Dread the Harvest Moon, which focuses on one of Bridey’s sister, but is not a continuation of this story. What a fun time!

My goal is to become the rumored witch of an old island town that hides away like Morag. I don’t want to lose my leg to a sea monster, but if that’s the only way to do it, so be it!Spoiler
I was so happy that in the end that Lugh, Cat, and Bridey were slowly getting their friendship back together because friendships are so important to me and I knew it was important to Bridey too.Spoiler
When Fynn was gone at the end of the book I was so sad. I was hoping for him to appear before the last page, almost like “I saw a figure on the beach as we sailed back to the dock, and I could see his blue eyes from where I sat on the boat” or something like that but NO! Hurt my heart some more Sarah! (jk I love you)Spoiler
In my notes I wrote down “a fiddle is the riddle” and BOY WAS I RIGHT! I thought it was fucking funny that I wrote down this rhyme thinking I was so funny and I was on the money.
