Gene Zion delivers charming illustrations and an engaging storyline perfect for cuddling and reading before bed (or a bath!) with any child. There is a timeless, quaint quality to both the text and pictures, making it a perennial read aloud favorite.

Harry is a bratty dog that gets lonely and does the right thing. But really Harry acts so lovable it would be hard not to forgive him - especially since somehow he didn't make the house dirty. Unfancy but quite good enough art - the scenes are certainly a bit dated but not in a way that detracts from the story.

Cute, classic, fine. Not my favorite, but nothing wrong with it. The scenes of burying the brush and hiding it were cute.

Harry hates taking baths, so he runs away from home and becomes the dirtiest dog ever. He becomes so dirty, that his family no longer recognizes him!

I quite enjoyed this picture book and liked that it discusses the importance of maintaining a clean image.

Part of a personal challenge to read all of my boyfriend's and his sister's childhood books before we donate and give them away.

A cute story about a mischievous dog. I remember reading this one as a small child, but nobody reads it better than national treasure, Betty White!
