I can't fault the writing, but this book failed to grab me. There's a wonderful passage about nicknames, but the rest feels like a police presentation with cultural background. Put it aside guiltily, but not guilty enough to pick it back up.

DNF...I really struggled with the writing style on this one. I hate giving poor ratings to books I didn’t finish, but I couldn’t even figure out who was who! It’s very short so I thought I could stick it out, but by halfway I was so confused my options were start over (definitely not) or stop reading.

slick, playfully written - first time I've read Sciascia since my year abroad and thoroughly enjoyed it, really whisks you away to that unique melting pot that is Sicily
