Thank you to Tara September for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. I loved my read of this. It was so sweet, romantic, and THE TENSION between the FMC AND MMC. I loved the story, and it felt like something that would happen irl. It was just so wholesome, and I loved every second of it. Did the fmc sometimes annoy me a tad? Yes, but she made up for it. I cannot wait to read more from Tara September in the future.

Ms. September hooked me with her writing back in 2020 when I read [b:Mine to Five|52676991|Mine to Five|Tara September|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1572966339l/52676991._SX50_SY75_.jpg|73706084] and [b:Don't Start Now|56795814|Don't Start Now|Tara September|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1611578568l/56795814._SY75_.jpg|88784599] in 2021. I don't usually pick up a lot of novellas but when I received a personal request to review One More Kiss, I couldn't wait to read it. Cal and April's enemies-to-lovers story is playful and genuine as two college neighbors with a connecting door can't stop with just one kiss under the stars.

Cal is kind and playful as he pursues his feisty and headstrong neighbor by serenading her with kissing songs, passes her notes, leaves her Hershey kisses outside her door, and calls her bluff with her silly notion to kiss someone else to make sure their shared kiss wasn't a fluke. He's a good guy with the best intentions of winning over the beautiful bookish girl next door. Yummy!

April is at college to get an education, not party all night. So when her next-door neighbor keeps her up with his giggly girlfriends she assumes he's a playboy. After a stolen kiss under the stars, her lie of a less-than-enthused reaction to it is just the challenge Cal needs to prove her wrong. With lots of sexual tension and late-night conversations through their connecting door, her preconceived notions start to waver as one kiss leads to another.

I am pleased to recommend this fun college romantic novella full of playfulness and chemistry of the sensual kind. The characters are cute, the flirting is entertaining, and their HEA is refreshing.

Thank you to Ms. September for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
POV: 3rd person FMC POV
spice: one open-door spicy scene
TWs: n/a
standalone: book 1 in the Lesson in Love series
final thoughts: I’m loving these novellas so much and I hope there are more in the future! This was a great single POV of April as she denies her feelings for Cal until he finally gets her to cave and admit her feelings. Cal is such a sweet MMC, and I was rooting for him from the first introduction. I love seeing them in the other books in the series too since they’re happening on a side-by-side timeline instead of linear.
I don’t typically like the miscommunication trope but it was so silly (and small) in this book and made for a great dislike-to-lovers story arc. I love the characters (main and side) in these books, and I need more! I have unanswered questions and a need for their “5 years later” engaged/married epilogues

Note: This is part of the “Love at First Kiss” college romance novellas series. Each is penned by a different author and characters appear across books. That said, I haven’t read/listened to any of the others and didn’t feel that it detracted from my enjoyment.

Even though I’m not currently reading a lot of NA/college books - I was looking forward to listening to this one because I’ve enjoyed Tara September’s other books.

Enemies to Lovers is a trope that doesn’t always work for me because not all authors redeem/reconcile what has the MCs at odds to begin with. September didn’t have any problem pulling that off here. April Harris has an adjoining door between dorm rooms with Cal Chase. This means she gets a lot more information on him than she’d like, but not all is as she perceives.

There’s also a bit of grumpy/sunshine and forced proximity tropes which I enjoy. Cute, funny, and a little bit sexy. I enjoyed the banter between Cal & a hesitant April. I liked that they got to know each other through lots of conversations. At just over two hours, it was an adorable and enjoyable listen.

Hollie Jackson was wonderful. She has a great voice for the college age of all the characters. I also really liked her male voices too. Her transition between characters voices/accents/emotions was flawless.

Entire series is available on KU. Many thanks to Tara September for giving me a copy of the audiobook - shhhh… nobody tell her I would have bought it anyway because I always enjoy her stories.

One More Kiss
By: Tara September
Narrated by: Hollie Jackson

Can one kiss determine your entire future? April lives next door to track star, Cal. Always noisy in his room, and not just music coming through his walls, April is not happy with him. Til the kiss. Now things have changed, and circumstances happen leading his couple to the craziest of times! Could one kiss bring these two together? Short, fun, and romantic, you will love this! Hollie Jackson gives a wonderful performance.

On the night of the metor shower, April is sharing a blanket with none other college track star, Cal Chase. They share a kiss that rocks both their worlds. Also, fun fact, they are neighbors and the story really gets going when her door breaks and the only way to get through to her her room, until the door is fixed is going through Cals. This allows them to get to know each other.

I flew through this novella. It was short and quick and over all a good solid read. Their banter was fun and flirty!

Quick Summary: A close quarters, enemies to lovers NA romance

My Review: One More Kiss by Tara September is book one in the Lesson in Love series.

About the Book: When a hot jock meets a short stack English major with an attitude, all bets are off. One kiss is all it takes to leave Cal and April hopelessly in lust. Is it possible for them to have more?

My Final Say: This novella gets a green light for the go! I loved it. Readers who enjoy college romance stories will get this one.

Not Just a Chase

This is cute college romance with a trace of drama and a bite of heat. I like how this unraveled between dorm neighbors April and Cal. The push and pull is adorable. There are a couple of playful scenes that were very entertaining and sometimes sweet.

Hollie Jackson is the narrator. She's a fine narrator but her voice didn't match what I envisioned twenty-one year-old April to sound like.

Story: 4 stars
Narration: 3.5 stars

I received this as an arc for my honest review

This was the first book I’ve ever read by the author but I hope it won’t be my last. I loved the storyline and the characters. I wasn’t able to put the story down.

I’ve got to start checking how many pages a book has. It was cute. I just don’t like super short books.
