Did not like this book, quit around 30%.

It was very conversational and you never knew what was going on in the persons head or the setting/where they were. Nothing was descriptive. It was all “I said” “I went” “he did this”, etc

A part I had a big problem with was when Dani’s male roommate bought them all Chinese food for dinner but then told the girls to stop eating or else they’d get a muffin top. It reinforced that all of these characters are extremely shallow and only care about external appearances.

It’s definitely isntalove where Miller is grabbing Dani and putting his hands under her shirt during only their second encounter, after writing his name in sharpie marker on her arm during the first. No personal boundaries.

There were also just weird things that didn’t make sense. Like when Dani drew the team for their class project all she said was their name/mascot, as if every other team at the college didn’t also have the same mascot. Or why Miller was living in a huge house where he throws massive parties with a pool all by himself. College kids, especially on sports teams, normally don’t live alone.

Finally, I know this is somewhat minor, but to keep calling hockey practice “training”, instead of practice really kept taking me out of the story. This is a re-issued book where presumably other things were fixed so how was this overlooked?
