I think one of the things I most enjoyed was how the author really puts you in Bo’s head. Even though there’s no way Bo can control time and go back in time, but there’s this feeling that, maybe, there’s something otherworldly going on. I’m not all that sure how the mental health representation is because Bo doesn’t have an exact diagnosis, but it has felt fairly accurate. It’s hard to talk about the other side characters because of Bo’s diagnosis and because he had to create this alternate situation to cope with being in an alternative school (and later to deal with Sofia’s suicide).

Caution: I cannot review this book without spoiling it.
I didn’t even read the book’s description until I went to review the book at the end, and there it was in black and white, terribly misleading… “delusions”, “claimed to have witnessed”, “assumes he knows the truth” –
Bo’s storytelling of his time-travelling was so captivating that I was assured every word was true. His reality was fascinating - the school with students who hold special powers; the beautiful yet heartbreaking story of Sofía, and how she was simply stuck in the past. There were so many details, such rich setting and description that there’s no way it was all in his head.
I refused to believe what was slowly being revealed as the school went under investigation — no one has powers. I was so engrossed in the goal of saving Sofía that everything else was a lie - no, she didn’t kill herself. Bo went back in time with her and then got snapped back to the present with no warning. Really, I think that the book’s description is the major spoiler; let the audience believe (like i did) that it’s all real. I couldn’t prepare myself for learning that none of Bo’s perceived reality - or at least, good bits of it - were anything more than perceived. This book was absolutely a wild ride.

It was a pretty enjoyable read. I was confused for a while and didn't know who to believe. Overall Bo is a very interesting character and this book took me out of a reading slump.
