All of the stories in this collection are a lot of fun, but a few of them have too many conveniences, and the evidence is often hid from the reader, so there's no way to figure out what happened without Holmes telling you. Other stories, though, give you enough that you can figure it out alongside the great detective.

Sherlock Holmes and the stories in this collection particularly are very dear to me. I know the bigotry is a product of it’s time, but it still has a way of souring stories that are otherwise really enjoyable. Nothing like getting jumpscared by sudden phrenology after wrongly assuming you’d mentally prepared yourself for the vintage racism.

I finally read the 3rd Sherlock Holmes book, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which is a collection of 12 short stories or “entries” from Dr. Watson’s journal." What can I say? I absolutely love Sherlock Holmes! I’m dying to read The Hound of the Baskervilles, but I refuse to read the books out of order (only 2 more to go!). Overall, Adventures is a great mix of fun and exciting mysteries full to twists and turns that will keep you guessing till the very end. I would recommend it to every and anyone!

My favorite stories would have to be:
“A Scandal in Bohemia” - featuring the great Irene Adler, aka the woman.
“The Adventure of the Red-Headed League”
“The Adventure of the Speckled Band”
“The Adventure of the Engineer’s Thumb”
