This book has it all: questionable narrator, spooky house, mystery ... loved every moment, even if it meant I lost out on some much-needed sleep.
Okay, there's nothing new here but if you just want a good, creepy read, then this is it.

Do NOT listen to this book by yourself after dark! The reader does an incredible job bringing the story to life and had me covered in goosebumps again and again! Great riff on the classic Victorian mystery genre with an ending I never saw coming!

All that build up for something so underwhelming. Disappointing

Not a super compelling thriller. The pacing was very slow at the beginning and none of the twists were all that shocking.

Ruth Ware knows how to write a truly suspenseful page-turner, and I think this book will stick with me longer than her others. The ending is also her most satisfying to date, although it is also frustrating in a way. It's a satisfying conclusion to the mystery, and doesn't feel too rushed, but doesn't necessarily offer the closure that some readers will be looking for. To characterize the final sequence or the final passages any further would spoil things, but it's emotionally powerful stuff.
