This one has been my favorite on the His Fair Assassin series. Annith's story was the most surpring of them all and interesting. I loved her strength and her slow burning rebeliousness. I loved how she treated everyone kindly and it helped her reach her goals in the end.
Perfect ending for the trilogy, though I would love to know more about that world and more characters... so I'll keep reading Robin for sure!

A good series-ender. The story line was fun and it's obvious the author did her historical research. Her end notes explain what liberties she took with facts to make her story work. My favorite aspect of the book was all the deep introspection of the main character. For me, even thought her internal monologues were about her faith and actions towards serving her good, they could be applied to the modern person's faith in God, Jesus, or even the Virgin Mother. It seems very much Christian minded. My least favorite part was the romance. The relationship building seemed very lacking and resolved awkwardly.

Great finish to one of my favorite series. Annith is every bit as awesome as her sisters and her story was one that brought the entire series full circle.

Like its predecessors, Mortal Heart is a fantastic book, this time centering around Annith. While its pacing is perhaps the weakest out of the three (unlike the others, it took about 100 pages to engage, and there were slow points throughout), it is still a more than worthwhile read, raising the stakes higher than ever and finishing on a gripping conclusion.

In particular, I liked the novel's treatment of Brittany's clashing-yet-combined religions.

In short, I highly recommend checking this and the rest of the series out.

I really enjoyed that one too! I love how historical facts are combined with that fantasy element and how one big story is told. Of all books in the trilogy, I think the second one was my favorite because Sybella was my favorite one of the three and her story the most exciting, but Ismae and Annith were really amazing too and just all the love for this trilogy
