while the swordsmith village arc is my least favourite of the kny arcs, I was still elated going into this because it meant more muichiro!!! and more genya!!! funny how literature works like that.

I liked how much slower this volume is in comparison to the previous instalments. while the action sequences are great, some of my favourite moments in the anime were these slower moments where we got to know the characters and the relationships between them outside of all the action - and I feel no different towards the manga. even that opening scene with the upper ranks was great even if I don't like some of them or don't know much about half of them.

furthermore, I really appreciate the mini comic where we learn why mitsuri wears the uniform she does. it's not because I hated mitsuri (anyone who does is going to face my wrath) or was bothered by her uniform while watching the anime (I mean, look at tengen's wives and nezuko's demon form; inosuke spends 98% of his screen time half naked; and sanemi has an open uniform - heck, even akaza has been topless every time he appears - so it's not unusual for characters to dress revealing in this universe) - I was just wondering why her uniform was more revealing than shinobu's.

This one is a bit slow IMO. But the plot got interesting after the introduction of the Upper Moons and the Infinity Castle

We are halfway in the series! 11 volumes more to go, eep! In this one Tanjiro recovers, then visits the town of the swordsmiths (which had me laugh how that was done, I mean, I get it being secret, but all that effort? And then given the ending.. ). I wasn't happy to see Tanjiro's swordsmith again, I mean, that dude gets ANGRY at Tanjiro in a way that just rubs me wrong and for all the dumb reasons. I mean, swords are NOT supposed to break or chip that easily. And given that more people have problems with his swords/his attitude, it surprises me that he can still be a smith. But thankfully there is plenty of great other stuff happening, though the new kid was a bit annoying. He started off OK, but then went in some kind of mode that just rubbed me wrong, what is up with these people in this town? We also meet Genya and Mitsuri Kanroji! And later someone else. I loved seeing these though Genya. Please. Stop being deredere. XD The ending was exciting and OMG I need to read on!
Oh, and I love how Tanjiro stays kind and friendly and polite even in scary situations.
