This was giving me crazy amounts of anxiety!!
So much suspense and action... I was definitely worried and was unsure how this was going to go and I could not guess what would be happening but was I oh so intrigued with the development and excitement of Emelle and her mates story.
I was a bit saddened I didn't get more of a happy ending in this book but quickly realized the novella handled all of that!

1st read:⭐⭐⭐
2nd read:⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love this series. I forgot how funny Emelle was and how much joy I got from reading this series. I loved this wrap up because we got some mate drama, prince drama, cupid drama, betrayals, and death. And I’m so excited to read the novella after this (which I already started) and the standalone between Lex and Belren (literally cannot wait). I loved the plot twist of how everything was after she left Cupidville and how it affected all of her mates. I just hated that there weren't consistent Okot scenes until like the 70% mark, especially since he was gone during the last few chapters of book 2. But when he finally came back, I was happy.

After Emelle gets yanked to Cupidville, things go down or as she calls it, it was a scuffle. When she returns to the fae realm, something is not right. She can’t find her mates, the palace is empty, and she can’t find anyone she knows. After some investigating she learns the truth, now will she be able to find her way back to her mates or will something or someone get in her way?

If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it. If you want a good time, you’ll definitely find it in this series.

Favorite quotes/scenes:

“What do you get when you walk into a room with an angel, a cupid, and a demon? Probably fucked. And not in the good way.”

“This isn’t fair. I was gonna try anal, and maybe get a tattoo, and I would’ve even exercised if Ronak wanted me to. Probably. Maybe. At least for, like, five minutes.
“Did she say anal?”

“You have pink cupid hair. My cupidity rubbed off on you, too. Are you mad?” (Emelle)
“Don’t you know by now? I’m partial to pink.” (Slyred)

“You… you’ve still been carrying chocolates in your pockets for me?” (Emelle)
“Every day. Because I knew you’d come back to us.” (Sylred)

“Another one’s been Emelle’d.” (Evert)
“What?” (Emelle)
“Emelle’d. It’s when someone gets struck silent from the crazy-ass words that come out of your mouth.” (Evert)
“I don’t say crazy-ass words.” (Emelle)
“Keep telling yourself that.” (Evert)

“You son of a butt chunk! I’m gonna tie your limp dick in a knot if someone doesn’t give me a gods-damned orgasm!” (Emelle)
“Can you not talk about injuring penises while mine is inside of you?” (Ronak)
“I guess.” (Emelle)

“Why are you all bruised up? Who fucking touched you? I’ll end them.” (Evert)
“I fell off a roof.” (Emelle)
“I’ll end the fucking roof, then.” (Evert)

“You kidnapped them for me.” (Emelle)
“I sure as fuck did.” (Evert)
“That was so sweet. I am so gonna suck your cock later.” (Emelle)
“I helped.” (Sylred)
“You did not, you fucker. You kept trying to talk me out of it, telling me kidnapping was bad and shit.”(Evert)
“And that was super responsible of you. You get a sexual service of your choice.” (Emelle)

“Oh gods, it hurts. I’m bleeding out. I have internal injuries. The poison is stripping out my insides. I’m dying, Syl!” (Emelle)
“Umm, Emelle? Sweetheart? I think you’re just… menstruating.” (Sylred)

“Hey, Scratch.” (Evert)
“Hey? I’m sitting here with my womb trying to squeeze itself out of my body, and you just saunter in and say hey?” (Emelle)
“For the record, I only smile at you. So, you’re the only one who gets to fantasize about licking my dimples. You know how I am—I tell everyone else to fuck off. Besides, I think the dimple-licking is just a you thing. It’s a bit weird, if you ask me. Hot, but weird.” (Evert)

Then I hear two of the best words ever spoken in any language.
“My beloved.”

“She looks like a beautiful goddess—an angel of love and retribution. She looks so otherworldly that it makes my heart ache.” (Okot)

“I’ve always felt her. Even when she was in the Veil, even before our mating bond was solidified, I had a sense of her. Her presence has always been ingrained inside of me. I don’t understand it, and perhaps I never will, but there’s no doubt in my mind that she was meant for me.” (Okot)

“You are perfect. I mean it, Emelle. Ronak and Evert aren’t good with words, but I thought you should know. You are everything to us. And your lamassu, too.” (Sylred)

“When I called you my beloved from that first moment I met you, it was because I meant it. You are the most beloved thing to me that has ever existed, and I am in constant awe that you crossed realms and Veils to get to me.” (Okot)
“I’d cross a thousand realms and go through a thousand more Veils for you, Okot.” (Emelle)

“This is my perfect love, made up of all five of us, and its worth is inestimable. I will love them with my entire heart, body, and soul, for as long as I live… and even after that. Because love? It really is the greatest thing you can ever have. Trust me. I’m a cupid.”

I started to get really bored with this series, and the things that used to be cute just weren’t cute anymore.
