Maybe for the very, very young, just because of the comforting sound of repetition, but I don't think they'd be enthusiastic about the visuals or the content. It's not much of a story for grown-ups either (explicitly so, according to his text), so I don't really see the audience for this. Very little payoff.
(Note: I'm a writer, so I suffer when I offer fewer than five stars. But these aren't ratings of quality, they're a subjective account of how much I liked the book: 5* = an unalloyed pleasure from start to finish, 4* = enjoyed it, 3* = readable but not thrilling, 2* = disappointing, and 1* = hated it.)

Well, this is a nonsense story. I think the point of the story shows up at the end. A picture with 3 proper looking gentlemen and it says, “I have composed this simple story… to make all serious men mad… and amuse all the little children.” Such a rebellious soul. . ahaha. His thumbing his nose at everyone makes me laugh.
I didn’t think much of the story really, but I sure do appreciate the end of it. All the little kids were happy in the last frame. So, I let the kids read this story and they thought it was rather strange. They didn’t know if they should like it or not actually. The nephew did laugh at the end with the kids. They both gave it a 3, but the niece didn’t know what to make of it.
