I absolutely enjoyed this book. This book took me on a roller coaster ride throughout the entire book. I felt bad for Amy's husband with everything that happened that Amy was putting him through. I also felt bad for Nick as well with everything that happened to him as well. I am glad that Nick was able to get himself somewhat together at the end of the book. Even though I was not pleased with how the book ended.

This book is a story about what can happen when your child unknowingly dates the child of a previous lover. As if this is not enough, things ended badly between the two lovers and there were a lot of unanswered questions and betrayals that come to the surface 25 years later when they meet again because their children are dating.

At this point, both are married with children but the past keeps coming back to haunt them. Both of the main characters are into wildlife preservation and become involved in the effort to save Oystertip Island from an individual who would like to bulldoze the existing home there to make room for his summer home.

The author definitely has a way with words that create amazing images in the reader's mind. Her writing style was beautiful and even though you think this is going to be your typical romance novel from the beginning, it really isn't. The author makes some hard but realistic choices in writing about how this previous relationship affects the current lives and families of both participants. She follows through with the realistic aspect in how she ends the book.

Very nicely written with realistic characters.
