Very cute and fun read. This would be perfect for Tweens who enjoy fairy tales.

This was a cute story, but a bit long winded. I'm wondering is if all the "Twice Upon a Time" books could be put together into one long book with sections for each story line. I did like his it was told between Rapunzel and the Prince.

This is the first book in the author's "Twice Upon a Time" series. Each book retells the story of a princess and prince and adds a little twist to the original story. This story is about Rapunzel and her prince, Prince Benjamin. The chapters are told in alternating voices. The familiar story of Rapunzel is in this book, but with some new parts added. Readers will recognize some characters (yes, the witch's name is Mother Gothel) but there are many differences between the book and the now, very familiar "Tangled" movie.
It was a cute story. I think girls in 4th-6th grade will like the story. There are two more princess stories in the series now - Sleeping Beauty and Beauty (or more familiarly knows as Belle).

Everybody knows the story of Rapunzel, right? Not so fast, there, friend. The amazing Wendy Mass not only gives it a fabulous back story, but we learn more about the prince who rescues Rapunzel and his story as well. In alternating chapters, we get to know both Prince Benjamin and Rapunzel as we root for them to get together. Several other interesting characters are introduced as well. This embellished fairy tale brings new life into a well-worn classic.

The book is well written. The characters are likable and there is a lot of humour in the story telling. Because the story is told from a make and female perspective both genders could enjoy it though fairytales are probably more a girl thing. The main characters are 12 so it could be a good sixth grade or early elementary book club book.

3.5 I feel like this book was written just to write it if you know what I mean. Rapunzel had plenty of obvious opportunities to escape the tower ....

I loved the story and characters but I didn't like how it was written that much.

I picked up this book waaaaaay back in the day during the good ol' Scholatic Book Fairs. Man, do I miss them. I mean, book stores are basically a giant book fair but come on. Remember the cool book marks and posters and erasers?! It was the best part of my childhood for sure! And the smell of new books... All those books lined up just waiting for us... Ah, the nostalgia.

Anywho, this take on Rapunzel is absolutely hilarious. I have always loved fairy tales and adaptions of them, so this book was read a LOT by me. Picking it up again, I still chuckle and wish I would have been able to find the rest of the series. I had no idea it even was a series!

Rapunzel has been abducted and is having a no good, very bad day. Prince Benjamin is the one to save her, but he's not exactly having a great time either. This adaptation is pretty spot on, but makes the horrifying things that happen in the original way more suitable for a middle grade audience.

This book is super whimsical and a fun, quick read. It's made for middle graders but if you want something quick and easy then this book is a great fix. I enjoy anything with fairy tails, so it was perfect for me.

Three out of five stars.
