I just feel like Fall is the perfect season to be reading this series. There’s something about the magic and cute coziness that just really fits for this time of year. The chapter title pages were especially detailed and beautiful, it was like playing I Spy in a world you just wanted to explore more. My favourite parts were of course the cats and also the dragons, their cycle of life was so touching. The world-building is intriguing and I can’t wait to continue on with this series (I may have immediately started the anime after reading this volume 🤭).
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Slavery, Trafficking, Kidnapping, Grief, and Death of parent

I really wanted to love this one more than I did. I liked the magic system and fantasy world aspects. I would love to learn more.
However, I did not feel comfy with the fact that the 'bride' for our monster-looking character is 15. Way too much of an age gap. And I don't know if I can continue.

Well-written and a plot that pulls you in for more. This is almost exactly the same story as A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne. Opal was allegedly inspired by this graphic novel.
This is a monster romance about a magical human who is sold into slavery and bought by a monster with a skull head. He buys her to become his mage apprentice but also, as the title implies, his bride.
This is only volume 1 so I may very well read the rest.

I would like this a lot more if the main character was an adult. Her being a 15 year old child literally SOLD to this old mage is super creepy.
Minor: Slavery, Grief, and Death of parent
