A lot like a Marvel movie. I don’t think I’ll reread, but I do want to know what happens in the rest of the trilogy.
I hated the ending.

Minor: Child death, Confinement, Death, Gore, Gun violence, Blood, Police brutality, Medical content, Grief, Death of parent, Murder, Fire/Fire injury, Toxic friendship, Injury/Injury detail, and Classism

I still think this book is great. It solidly builds up Nova's and Adrian's personality and morals at the beginning and showcases how humanity is a spectrum when it comes to what we see as right and wrong. No one is truly evil or good in the world, though some would be so in our opinion, but the Marissa Meyer really focuses on how it is up to interpretation of the reader and those around the character.
I loved the character development we get in the book and how well it sets up for the second. The conflicts both internal and external are highlights for me and I can't wait to see more of in the second book and how it all concludes in the third.
