as someone who is obsessed with teen titans and x-men evolution this was just so up my alley, I LOVED adrien and nova and even though the troupes were a little cheesy I don’t care I will always be a sucker for a good superhero story. the only reason it’s not the full 5 stars is bc I wish the rest of the characters were fleshed out a bit more and I wish there was more team banter but i’m interested to see what the second book will bring

I will always be fascinated by Marissa Meyer's talent for world-building. I mean, those skills, I like, need them.
I had a lot of fun with this one overall, loved the world and the characters and I need to know what happens neeeeeeeeeeext now thank you very much.

I wanted a bit more from most of the characters, and some of the things that happened were hard for me to believe. Like, how in the world did Nova not get found out? She was being so obvious, so frequently, that she was Nightmare. The plot twist did get me, and overall the plot was intriguing enough to keep me wanting to keep reading this all day, and wanting to finish the series.

THIS WAS SO PERFECTLY PERFECT AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
You feel like you're reading a blockbuster superhero movie and comic book at the same time, it is so perfectly balanced with the cheesy names and costumes and the questions of morality and society ITS JUST SO GOOD!!! I love that I can see both sides of the argument, and good and evil on both sides, and I don't have the answer to their questions and it's just perfect. Yes yes yes. Also the fun house description was amazing, I felt like I was living every creepy second in there with them AAAHH it's just so perfect!!!
One critique was the last page was unnecessary but not unexpected, but in a 500 pg book, that being my only critique is EXCEPTIONAL.

I don't know how I EXACTLY feel about this book. It was a fun read but at the same time it felt dragged. Like nothing much happened in those 500+ pages. I expected them to find each other's identities by the end, but that didn't happen. But I think it was just a build-up book for future events. Looking forward to what happens next..
