It's fine. Entertaining. If you want a feel good read and don't mind completely unrealistic, pollyanna endings, this is for you.

This was all I wanted from a chickflick. Perfect holiday / airplane read. At times a bit predictable, but mostly very fun and got me engaged with the characters. It was light, but still adressed some serious modern day issues.

Few books actually make me "LOL", but this one did. Sophie Kinsella has a knack for putting her characters in situations that are outrageous, yet believable. Katie, "Cat", Brenner is a likable protagonist who ends up in crazy situations as she struggles to find herself. Even though the story is primarily humorous, the characters are complex and add a depth to the story that makes you think about the assumptions we make about others.

Please do yourself a favour and read this book! Relatable, high spirits, low moments, love, family, wisdom, quirkyness.. it has it all. For any woman/girl/young adult at the verge of plunging into a new life after university, this book is a great teacher in how to look at things differently and only envision the best for yourself, no matter how much work it takes. My praise for the author is endless.

Katie 'Cat' Brenner is living her dream life in London, or at least that's what she wants her family and friends to believe when they see her Instagram photos. Everyone else's life is perfect so why would they want to know about her excruciatingly long commute, horrible roommates and underwhelming job? When an unexpected change at work forces her to return to her family home in the countryside, Katie is forced to reevaluate her life, her priorities and along the way learns an important life lesson: not everything is as perfect as it seems.

Sophie Kinsella has such a knack for creating lighthearted and fun stories, with relatable and likeable characters. It's one of the main reasons I come back to her books every time. With My Not So Perfect Life, Sophie Kinsella has captured perfectly the society we live in today, where the appearance of happiness, success and perfection is so much more important than the messiness and unglamorous reality of everyday life.

A fun, entertaining and (surprisingly) thought provoking read. I absolutely recommend to pick this one up from your local library or bookstore.

I absolutely loved this book! BUT I must first let you know that I've only recently started reading books like this one so other than with YA it's not a I've-seen-it-all-situation. I can't say how much I would have liked this book if I had been really into the genre. So, that being sad:
I enjoyed the book from the beginning on. I was interested in the topic, liked the writing style and the characters. It was a fast, light and enjoyable read. I must admit that it was a bit cliché and some things were clear from the beginning on but I feel like the book didn't intend to be super realistic or surprising?? At least to me, it didn't feel like it was trying to be something it wasn't.
And the ending. I ADORED the ending. I laughed and giggled and smiled so much and that doesn't happen all that often with me. It was just adorable and so satisfying.
I can't say that it surprised me or I learned anything from it, I'd had this mindset before already, it really could have been a book written by me (theme-wise, not saying I'm a beststelling author obviously) but that's also a good thing, right? But I still think that it has a great message and some people need to read books like this one.
