This book is CRAZY!!! The tournament was wild, all the challenges? The fact that something sinister is going on and Harry wasn’t supposed to be involved. The Death Eaters! The. The ending?! The dark lord?! Cedric?! Find me drowning in a River of my own tears. Amazing story.

2005:
Also great! GO Krum!

2015:
Very suspenseful and exciting, even though I know what happens. There are lots of parts that I had forgotten all the little nuances, so it was fun to revisit. And of course, the best courtroom scene ever (glorified by the movie, memorized by Catherine and me...haha)

2018:
I love rereading these because a lot of my memory of the plots comes from the films and it is so fun to go back and read all the details and explore more characters than film could ever allow

2019:
Great characters and excellent plot development. Love the expansion of the Wizarding World on many levels.

2020:
It probably has more to do with burnout but I had trouble getting into this one this time around...until the last few chapters, which are masterful.

I think this is the book that takes the Harry Potter from children's lit into young adult. I think the plot, the characters, and the situations become darker, more sinister, and a little bit to frightening for a child to read on his/her own. I love this book though, it is my second favorite of the entire series. I love how the author effortlessly weaves storyline after storyline together to create a rich world full of so many different amazing things.

There isn't much more for me to say except I love this book and this series and anyone who has not read it should read it or be in danger of being labelled as a fascist (if you are a fascist, sorry to equate you with non-Harry Potter readers).

All I can say is the last 150 pages really got my heart rate going. I can now see how this is almost the pinnacle of tension. It was a slow start and I’m not sure if Rowling needed the book to be that long. The kids didn’t actually get back to Hogawarts until like 200 pages in, but the last third of the book has me hooked. Everything is on the line and it is getting scary!

This book got the WORST movie treatment, it deserved so much more. Forgot how many great storylines and downright funny moments this book has. One of my favorites.
