I was really intrigued by the concept of this book from the moment I came across it and waited in eager anticipation for its release. Safe to say, i was not disappointed & thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the modern take on ancient tales & really appreciated Babalola’s centring of women throughout, that was done in such a way that it still included and did not take away from the importance of the male characters.

This is such a lovely little book! I was impressed at how much depth each of these stories was able to have given how short they were! I was only familiar with a few of the original myths and I loved how those were reworked, and it was also nice to learn about some new ones.

Definitely a feel-good book for the most part but still has some lovely writing and meaningful messages worked into it.
