This memoir could benefit from editing and by adding pictures. It was beyond sad. I’m not sure of the point. I already disliked jello before reading, and that remains the same.

I liked it when it was straightforwardly a history and straightforwardly a memoir; trying to cross them over drew a lot of rolled eyes from me. I know 2018 was a very specific time, but 2018 white feminism……..should not feel this pin-pointable

Could not put this down! Beautifully written, thoughtfully done. I want to read it again more slowly because I blew through wanting to know what happened next.

This is a DNF for me. I wanted to like the book but I struggled to stay engaged. The story wandered all over the place and I lost interest in trying to discern the central point. Thank you for the ARC.

Jell-o Girls is an incredible family history that tracks how family trauma echoes through time and space and how patriarchy flavors the lives of even the most privileged of women. This book is a hidden gem that echoes the sentiments of Sylvia Plath and some how finds a way to use a gelatinous snack food as the most fitting of metaphors. The ending seemed a little rushed and disconnecting from the rest of the book, but overall I HIGHLY recommended it!
