I enjoyed the story. I did not like Blair at all! She seemed really childish to me. I was disappointed that we only got maybe a page or two of them back together and happy and no epilogue!

What a surprise by LJ Shen!
Blaire is a senior in college, enjoying her life the fullest by trying not to think about everything else. She is a complete opposite of her twin sister- while Izzy is a supermodel, depending on luxury and girlie things, Blaire is your typical tomboy with IDGAF attitude.
Her assignment in journaling is about MMA, so she goes to the gym to meet those artists to have her assignment done as fast as possible. After her first encounter with Ty, a cocky MMA womanizer, she wants to have anything with him. Okay, maybe sex. But Ty wants to show her that he isn't the way she thinks of him. He shows her the side he doesn't show to anyone, and it's really easy to fall into him. However, with many barriers between then, can their love manage to go through it?
After finding out that this is written by LJ Shen, I was really surprised how her writing has progressed. I love her as an author, but it really shows how far she moved after 5 years. I love how Blaire hardly accepted his ways of womanizer because usually, MC doesn't give a f about it. But her feminist side showed the sympathy for the women he treated badly. But it was so easy to fall in love with him! Really, when they were apart, I was screaming at her to go to him. But I understand that it was hard to swallow, so apology accepted. I love how she found passion in writing, thanks to him basically. It's sad that only sometimes you could see the genius writing of LJ Shen from nowadays, it would be great to read it if she wrote it now. But nevermind, I enjoyed it!

I actually read this story way out of order. I am surprised this was a debut novel, because it was really well written. It was intense and gripping. It had me captivated from page one. It was a quick read for me and I would love to read more from these characters. L.J. Shen never disappoints me and this book was no different.

I was frustrated with the characters at time, but I still found myself wanting to know what would happen next for them and rooting for a happy ending for them both. I absolutely cannot wait for more from L.J. Shen. I am always excited when I hear of another book being released from her. I am excited to see what she has in store for us next! I am so glad I went back and read this story.

MMA romance, okay. Two fun and weird people brought together, definitely. I did enjoy reading this, but I have to say usually sports romance isn’t my thing. The female main character shares my opinion so that made it more interesting. There was more tension then spice but still a fun read.

You can tell this was written in 2015. If you have read any of my reviews, you know LJ SHEN is one of my favorite authors. Pure perfection! However, this one wasn’t it for me.

Her writing skills have developed so much it’s crazy. I love the plot but I don’t think it developed well-romantically.

2019 LJ is undefeated! So crazy to see her work then vs. now
