This was a great book to read. It’s the best in the series so far.

I think this is the best entry in Fate of the Jedi so far, perhaps because Jacen Solo makes an appearance as a pseudo Force ghost. That gave me ALL THE FEELS.

In this volume, Luke and Ben travel to the Maw to track down a mysterious evil and figure out more about what went wrong with Jacen (and also possibly solve what's happening with all the crazy Jedi). There's a lot of Force theory, which might turn some readers off, but I LOVE FORCE THEORY. There's plenty of action too, though most of it happens on Coruscant with Leia, Han, Jaina, and Alanna. This is sort of a nice reversal, since so many of the Leia plots are tamer and Luke gets all the action.

The Sith have a huge sub-plot, and I love the way everything converges at the end. I started to really like Vestara in this volume, and I'm on board for wherever this ride takes me.

I am so glad we got some good Han & Leia time in this book. It's almost like they've been regulated to the unknown regions during the last series. I've missed their banter and their input into the GFFA...

The time spent with Luke & Ben was more interesting than the previous novel. Learning about Luke's thoughts on Ben's future in the Jedi Order was something I hadn't thought or "seen" coming.

In short, I'd have to agree that this book gets back on track from this crazy, un-Star Wars storytelling.

I think this was another strong book in this series. I know that there are a lot of people burned out on the Star Wars EU, but since I just started reading them I like what is happening in the world.

Things are progressing in the Jedi storyline, although it does seem slightly slow at the moment. I hope that things eventually pick up. It doesn't even need to pick up that much, just a little more happening in the book would be nice.

Luke and Ben continue their galaxy world tour, this time with a stop in the Maw. I like this storyline the best, perhaps due to my love of Luke Skywalker. Plus it has the added advantage of featuring a kid (well, teenager) that doesn't totally annoy me. Amelia Solo I'm looking at you. I just really hate precocious kids in literature. They are always written as older than their years and have to be wedged into the important plots of the books. And now she's some sort of Jesus-queen who brings everyone together in harmony? ugh. No thanks. Maybe her story will get better?

I liked the continuing storyline of the Lost Sith as well. They are always interesting to read about, and Vestura doesn't get on my nerves. Yet. We'll see how they develop her past this book, it could go downhill fast.

Overall, I still like the way this series is headed. I know a lot of people are burned out with the Extended Universe, and I can see how it might get tedious, but I'm still having a lot of fun reading them.

I'm really getting into the story. I do feel liek it takes a while to build up to the really juicy parts, but even the buil-up process is entertaining. Alot of things are making more sense to me now, since I actually read the fifth book before I read any of them. I really want to read the series that was written before this, about Jacen's downfall. Guess that's what summer is for :)

Luke Skywalker continues to look for the reason why Jacen Solo turned to the dark side, which leads him and Ben to the old Maw Cluster where he has to submit to dangerous rituals in search for the truth. The Jedi Order continue to battle outside forces such as Galactic Alliance Chief of State Daala and Council Master Kenth Hamner in their quest to find out why Jedi are falling to an epidemic of madness. Han and Leia, along with Jaina, also try to protect these sick Jedi from being taken into custody. Eventually, Ben and Luke confront Sith forces bent on destroying them. Pretty decent book, but more of the same from the previous two, if not slightly better written. I'm hoping the Fate Of The Jedi series moves forward soon...

I am really growing to enjoy these books. This one especially. It is getting into character growth and emotional growth, which I really enjoy. Even though I have obviously missed a lot of books in between the movies and these stories, the books are written in such a way that I am easily able to follow what has happened. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.

I'm enjoying this series, but this one felt a little like a middle book. The least happened in this story. But overall still enjoyable.

The series continues to be delightfully...average (besides the first one, which was good). There is a great scene with Luke and Ben going through a Force lake, but then you have scenes with the Sith tribe that are just dreadful. At the very least, it's nice to have Sith in the story again and I'm curious where the series will go from here. So far, nine books doesn't justify all the fluff!

Really good series so far. I definitely prefer Fate to the Legacy of the Force series. The Luke and Ben duo has been lovely. The beyond shadows scenes were pretty trippy in typical Denning fashion.
