I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would.
Both characters were likeable and the romance was both hot and sweet.
I was really rooting for these two!

Excellent! Very intriguing and good story. Lori was a successful romance book writer but she was still a virgin at the ripe old age of 26. This made her very uncomfortable around men who made advances, so she wasn't getting any action in her personal romance front. So, she employs the services of a male personal escort. Enter Ander, very suave, cool and sophisticated and HOT. He was a great teacher and she was a good student. As time goes on and Lori keeps using Ander's services, their feeling change and you notice it thru the author's excellent body language hints. I loved Lori because she was genuine and I liked Ander because he had many layers and as the story goes, his layers start to peel and you want to find out what he's made of. Of course, from the beginning you understand he's kind, intuitive and observant, but those were the traits that made him an excellent escort. What I loved about this book is that you can actually visualise how their relation developed, how each other changed in their feelings to each other.

Okay, I really enjoyed how Ander and Lori’s relationship progressed and was pleasantly surprised by this book!! It’s not the most incredibly written book but it was enjoyable and I thought it was kinda cute.

Look, I may bump up my rating to a full five stars after I’ve sat on this book for a couple days. I absolutely bombed this book in less than 24 hours because I could. Not. Stop.

I’ll start with the stuff I didn’t like that much but honestly I wasn’t that bothered by it, but I want to acknowledge it. There are a lot of repetitive phrases in this book. A ton of sex scenes where a lot of the same things happen. They have the same kinds of reactions to things. And it kinda seems to go on a bit (which may be a problem for some but was not a problem at all for me because I loved them together so much). And once or twice, a character will say they’ve “never” done something when we have actually seen them do that thing in the book. And I guess I also found the rather dramatic third act relationship shift a little jarring, but not in a bad way?

Other than those things, which were really quite minor for me in the context of this book, I really really loved this. I had such a great time watching them grow closer, witnessing the changes in Ander’s behaviors and reactions and perceiving them differently from Lori. Watching Ander slowly slowly come out of his shell, and watching Lori grow into her sexual power. For a book that pretty much starts right off the bat with sex, this book was in reality the slowest of burns, so much so that simple eye contact, brushes of skin, and sweet kisses had me *sweating*.

Some of the side plot was a little trite, like Ander’s backstory, and the occasional appearance of Lori’s cousin, who only seemed to exist to give Lori bits of information that moved the story along (and probably so that Anders and Lori weren’t literally the only characters in the book) but I LOVED the focus on the two of them and the fact that almost every scene was them together.

It really did feel like “a year in the life” and all the things that can quietly change during a year. And I was positively *feral* watching Anders lose control around her. This book had me kicking my feet, grinning like an idiot, and also squirming in my seat. Absolutely loved this, will probably read again.
