Okay, I feel torn and a bit disappointed. Throughout most of this book I was on the edge of my seat, racing through it, completely captivated. And then…there was the ending. I haven’t looked through the review but I can imagine that the ending is a polarizing one. Sadly, I personally really didn’t like it. Right now, after just finishing it, I’m feeling pretty dissatisfied with this book because of the ending. But since for the majority of my reading experience it felt like a 5star read, I don’t think I can rate it any lower than a 4. I might change my mind on this later, but for now, this is it.

This was a one day read for me! Found myself incredibly hooked throughout.

This was my first ever read by Colleen Hoover having heard good things but not read too much into her writing style I found myself shocked and the detail of the more ‘intimate scenes’.

The only reason I couldn’t give this at stars is whilst I really enjoyed the plot twists throughout the book which always kept me guessing, the tension scenes didn’t feel as details as the raunchy sexual scenes which was a bit of a shame.

Loved the plot and would read again!

I wanted to see what all the hype was surrounding Colleen Hoover (I had never read one of her books) and this book intrigued me. That being said, I very much enjoy a dark novel that has a twist so this did that for me. While her writing style isn’t my favorite, I still very much enjoyed the book and had a hard time putting it down.
There were many gasps and ‘I need a minute’ moments that I appreciate in a book. And while there were a few things that I kind of saw coming, there was quite a few that I didn’t.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes dark & twisty with a good bit of smut.

when i first read the book i liked it a lot because i thought it was just supposed to be a psychological horror/thriller, but upon discovering that this is supposed to be a dark romance, i like it significantly less. protagonist is far from the main character, everyone is awful, and there are so many missed opportunities for genuine character development. the romance is the most insufferable part of the book, but it was tolerable when i thought it was meant to be a horror element. so if you just pretend to not know you’re reading a colleen hoover book, this is a solid 3.5 for simplicity and tropes
